It&#8217;s truly been quite a blessing, a very fortunate year with all the valuable projects, fabulous people, delightful travels, and other activities that transpired this past year. Here are a few highlights listed below, in no particular order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planned, coordinated, and led a 2-day innovation workshop with Citrix Labs  at our new <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.hbr.org\/cs\/2011\/11\/inventing_the_collaborative_workspace.html\" target=\"_blank\">Product Design Collaboration Studio<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Co-planned and led discussions for a couple internal Mobile Summits, with a deeper analysis of what exactly is &quot;mobile UX&quot; and how to fold that thinking into our practice. <\/li>\n<li>Concepted, designed, and delivered the visual and interaction designs for a <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.citrix.com\/2011\/12\/19\/mobilize-your-enterprise-with-the-xenapp-6-5-mobility-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\">new feature of Citrix Receiver \/ XenApp<\/a> that allows you to interact directly with Windows 7 as a re-skinned iOS &quot;app&quot; using iOS UI conventions to feel more native, natural for iPad users.<\/li>\n<li>Contributed to the beautiful evolution of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citrix.com\/English\/ps2\/products\/feature.asp?contentID=1690066\" target=\"_blank\">Citrix Receiver<\/a> achieving greater levels of multi-device and cross-platform cohesiveness. More on this will be discussed at my <a href=\"http:\/\/panelpicker.sxsw.com\/ideas\/view\/12337\" target=\"_blank\">SxSW 2012<\/a>&#8230;stay tuned! ;-)<\/li>\n<li>Participated in various &quot;design thinking&quot; workshops, from <a href=\"http:\/\/dschool.stanford.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stanford d.school, <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.luma-institute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Luma Institute<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/xnet.kp.org\/innovationcenter\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kaiser Innovation<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.limedesignassociates.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lime Design<\/a>. I described some of the common shared qualities here.<\/li>\n<li>Lots of UX Community outreach: Spoke at Citrix Online in Santa Barbara on &quot;beauty as a quality of UX&quot;, submitted a paper to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hcii2011.org\/index.php?module=webpage&amp;id=83\" target=\"_blank\">HCI International<\/a> on &quot;design + engineering relationships&quot;, presented at <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.hackerdojo.com\/w\/page\/25437\/FrontPage\" target=\"_blank\">Hacker Dojo<\/a> on &quot;how to work with a designer&quot;, also spoke at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siliconvalley-codecamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Silicon Valley Codecamp<\/a> on a couple topics (UI design fundamentals, partnering with a designer).<\/li>\n<li>Tons of travel as usual&#8230; Boulder for IxDA&#8217;11, beaches at Maui, urban dining in WashDC\/NYC, finally toured Hollywood\/SoCal, office visit in Bangalore (re-visit), Las Vegas (back after 4 yrs), and Barcelona + Zurich for Thanksgiving.
